Tree Irrigation

For trees situated in beds where bed irrigation is in place, a connection to the bed irrigation lines with bubblers provides an additional water source for each tree. Providing water for treelines, spreaded trees or large solitary plants may be sorted on a dedicated zone. This is commonly called as tree zone.

The plants may be different on the same zone and they may have different water demand as well. But the zone run the same length of time at each plant. How can we supply more water for one plant whilst give less for the other? Of course more or less of the same emitters have to be added based on their demands. Alternatively more emitter types can be used.

Dripline for Tree Irrigation

Most common and cost-efficient solution to install drip rings around the trees on the surface. Dripline have even flow so it’s easy to calculate how much water is supplied with a certain circumference of the drip ring. Also some button dripper can be added to the ring in case of insufficient flow.

Drip rings can be used in beds or in tree plates but when a tree is planted in lawn, this solution can’t be applied.

Subsurface dripline are not recommended to use as tree rings as they can be pinched or squashed by the tree roots at a later growing stage and completely stop the flow.

Popup For trees

A bit more costly but neater solution to install popups right at the the root zone and use bubbler nozzles. These nozzles emit the water on low pressure hence the danger of washing the soil out around the roots is very low.

When the zone is out of use, the popups are vanished hence the view and lawn maintenance are not disturbed.

Tree bubblers

Tree bubblers are the special tree watering equipments. They can be inserted inside the watering drains or inside their grate housing. The water gently flows right in the root area In both cases.
