Decoder module is inserted into the controller and makes usage of decoders on the system possible.

Much more zones can be installed on a decoder system with the same controller and newer zones can be added later without thinking forward to it prior to the first installation. Not all controllers can be used with decoder systems.

Decoders are working with a specific signal sent to them via the decoder cable. Usually the normal signal cables cannot be used with a decoder system.

Decoder modules are protected inside the controller whilst decoders are waterproof and maintenance-free.
