For one/two zone systems without electricity or small separate zones without possibility to connect to the main controller, a tap timer is recommended as a cost-effective solution.

They are connected stright on the tap outlet. New models are programmable via mobile apps using Bluetooth connection.

Tap timers are battery powered and works a whole season with a new battery. They are waterproof but usually not frost-proof so they have to be dismantled by the end of the season and stored in a frost-free place.

Tap timers contains metal and plastic parts and small channels hence they are not frostproof. At winter shutdown they must be dismantled and stored in a dry, frost-free place.
