Zone is a group of emitters and pipework belonged to them to irrigate same plants or plant groups on equal way by the same program at the same time. There are lawn zones, micro zones, drip zones, planter zones and sometimes any combination of previous zones depending on the design structure.

Usually lawn zones operate with popup sprinklers (popups) but subsurface dripline can also be used. Popups can also be used to irrigate low shrubs or perennials.

Micro zones contain micro sprinklers and mainly used to irrigate perennial and shrub beds. Dripline, leaky pipe and inline bubblers can be used for the same reason but their low pressure demand makes them possible to install on low pressure systems.

Planters, pots and hanging baskets are commonly irrigated by adjustable bubblers individually intalled to each planter.
